I am seeking a full-time Patient Care Coordinator for a growing plastic surgery practice. I am a board certified plastic surgeon with microsurgical specialty training. My practice focuses on breast reconstruction, reconstructive microsurgery, and aesthetics. I am seeking a highly motivated, punctual, organized and detail-oriented individual to guide patients through their surgical journey from the time of initial consultation, surgery, and surgical aftercare. My practice provides a spectrum of aesthetic and reconstructive procedures with a special focus in breast cancer reconstruction.

The Patient Care Coordinator is a dynamic role designed to allow for growth in your management of clinic operation, coordination of surgical procedures, and growth of the surgical practice. Ideal candidates should excel at organization, problem-solving and client service. Experience with surgical scheduling, clinical office management, billing and insurance claims is critical for this position. The position is an excellent opportunity for growth of experience in clinic management, patient coordination, practice expansion, marketing, and team building.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Surgical scheduling and peri-operative surgical care coordination
  • Obtaining insurance authorizations, verifying benefits, reviewing insurance explanation of benefits, and following-up claims
  • Guiding cosmetic patients through pre-op and post-op process, creating surgical quotes
  • Administrative responsibilities including management of clinic operations, maintaining billing spreadsheets, communicating with billers
  • Coordination with hospitals and surgery centers as well as product vendors – Patient care coordination including pre- and post-operative counseling and general follow-up
  • Willingness to participate in marketing and growth on social media platforms and website in addition to interfacing with marketers
  • Work effectively with other team members including medical assistants to delegate and define roles and responsibilities


  • Previous work in clinical or hospital-based care coordination position, 2 years of experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of CPT terminology, medical billing, insurance authorization and benefit verification is critical
  • Experience in surgical sub-specialty helpful but not an absolute requirement
  • Problem-solving attitude, detail oriented and organization are critical qualities
  • Desire for growth, learning, and excellence in practice management
  • Knowledge of common billing platforms, electronic medical record platforms, and practice management software
  • Marketing experience helpful
  • High ethical standards
  • Professional appearance and conduct expected
