Patient Care Coordinator – Plastic Surgery

Our well established and busy Plastic Surgery practice is seeking a skilled PCC to help run all surgical operations. This person will work closely with the surgeon, including pre and post-op assistance, preparing surgical charts, providing education to surgical patients, and supporting the entire surgical process from consultation through post operative follow up. The position may also support the front office when needed. The ideal candidate is looking for a long term career and growth within a practice. The surgeon currently spends ~40% of his time in his Miami location, so occasional travel may be an option, but not mandatory. This role requires a high level of organization, professionalism, and adaptability.

  • Responding and engaging to new patient inquiries via phone and/or email
  • Explaining all procedures in a confident and comprehensive manner
  • Being able to answer patient questions before and after surgery
  • Quoting fees for procedures; promoting the physician and the practice in a professional manner
  • Verifying eligibility and benefits with insurance companies; obtaining prior authorization for procedures
  • Scheduling surgery dates for patients; coordinating surgery schedules with other medical offices and facilities
  • Coordinating scheduling with out-of-town patients; coordinating patient aftercare as needed
  • Acting as a liaison between patients and the provider
  • Communicating with the billing team and following up on insurance claims
  • Representing the practice with a positive and professional image at all levels; having a willingness to participate in marketing efforts through social media

The candidate must possess:

  • Have excellent customer and communication skills
  • Be highly accurate and detail oriented with strong organization skills
  • Maintain high ethical standards; possess the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Have good computer skills; be energetic and reliable; be a team player and work well with others
  • Self-motivated
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and CPT terminology
  • Knowledge of using Nextech EHR, practice management software, and CRM systems is preferred
  • Prior experience working in the plastic surgery field is helpful
  • Professional demeanor and polished appearance
